L. Marinn Pierce

Marinn Pierce (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (CA #567) and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (NC #15436) specializing in building resilience through trauma, depression, and anxiety. She holds a PhD in Counselor Education from the University of Tennessee and M.S. and Ed.S. degrees in Community Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greenbsoro. After spending more than 10 years training professional counselors in the academic setting around the country, researching and teaching about trauma-informed practices, and continuing to see clients, she opened Embodied Resilience of the Carolinas in an effort to offer what she learned with clients.

Marinn began her career working with children and youth and their families and now specializes in treating intergenerational and developmental trauma, pre- and perinatal trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and religious and spiritual issues. She also enjoys working with sexual orientation issues and coping with life transitions and works with individuals as young as two years old. She believes in providing a safe space for self-exploration and personal growth and that all individuals have the potential for positive growth and healing. She is the Past-President for the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling. Marinn is a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and is also a Transforming Touch Therapist®.
