Gin MacCallum

I am a registered somatic movement therapist, (accredited by ISMETA, the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association), a somatic experiencing practitioner (SEP), and guild certified in the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education. I am also a mother and artist.

I’ve been exploring body-based practices for over 25 years. My work is centered on bringing awareness to how unresolved trauma shows up in our bodies, and offering ways to reorganize - our nervous system, our movement, and our imagination - around new states of connection and presence. I specialize in restorative and creative, trauma-focused somatic practices.

My approach is rooted in investigations of embodiment - as a performance artist, dance therapist, bodyworker, movement teacher, and somatic practitioner. I completed graduate studies in Creative Arts Therapies with a focus in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling, then a postgrad certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies with Bessel van der Kolk at the Trauma Center. For the past several years, I have been studying with Kathy Kain.

I am also a trauma informed yoga teacher (RYT), certified in Energy Medicine Yoga, Restorative and Therapeutic Yoga, and Therapeutic Breathwork; and, a provider of the Safe and Sound Protocol, and SEGAN method.

I work with individuals in private practice.
