I am a clinical counsellor / psychotherapist in private practice, supporting adults of all ages and across genders who have experienced attachment and developmental trauma in all its forms. I adopt a relational and experiential approach to my work with folks and interwoven into this is a deep respect and reverence for the whole bodymind. As such, I’m continually honing my skills in somatic therapies to support the dear humans I see in healing, resolving and metabolising the stored traumatic experiences that have long-lived beyond language. Some of these include Level 1 Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Practice Online, Module 1 of Somatic Resilience and Regulation (and when time permits, I’m looking forward to finishing this) and most currently and excitingly, I am nearing the end of the beginning level of Somatic Experiencing, with the intention of working towards becoming an SEP.
Beyond the certifications and my perpetual desire to hone and develop skills to best support the humans that I see, I share a deep fondness with Irvin Yalom’s concept of the “fellow traveller” and Carl Jung’s concept of the “wounded healer”. My intention is to authentically, honestly, firmly, playfully, safely and lovingly be with people as they find within themselves the possibility, capability, vitality, authority, freedom, goodness and love that I wholeheartedly believe exists within all beings.
