I invite you into an experience that is accessible, empowering and transformative. I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, who has trained in Kathy Kain’s Touch Training For Trauma Therapists. In addition to these certifications, my background in massage therapy has prepared me well for engaging in somatic touch work with sensitivity, wisdom and skill. The contact I offer is intended to lend you greater capacity so that you may venture into your internal experience without fear. This work facilitates a deep exploration of the body as a container for all experience and is compassionately held. It is also an invitation to come into relationship with struggling anatomical systems, bracing patterns and emotional responses that may need tending. My hands will assist in directing your attention, supporting your process and containing nervous system activation. Touch work is also an opportunity to explore relational elements and bring clarity to interpersonal dynamics, a place to learn to connect with and communicate your preferences, limits and boundaries.
I work with a wide range of adults. People who have a history of boundary ruptures from assault and abuse benefit from the attentive, responsive process I provide. My background as a massage therapist supplies a rich knowledge of body systems and this is often supportive for clients who have had ongoing health concerns, persistent pain or chronic symptoms. I have also found this work to be helpful for renegotiating the effects of medical trauma & physical injuries, as well as reconnecting to dissociated body parts. In addition, I work with clients healing from developmental trauma who are seeking ways to let go of hypervigiliance or disconnect in order to establish their own sense of dignity and ability to receive care and be nourished.
