I’m an Ottawa-based somatic psychotherapist working with teens and adults, both virtually and in person. My background in social justice education is integral to my approach — I'm deeply attentive to the ways the dominant culture impacts those of us who aren’t part of it. I’m honoured to work with people who hold an array of social identities, and am committed to co-creating a supportive place where that complexity is held with care and cultural humility.
Offering my compassionate presence to what emerges, I'm also attuned to possibility: to the ways constricted, habitual responses can shift, to the ways a more regulated nervous system can arrive with the right support. I hold the possibility for more choice, ease and a sense of safety, along with a greater capacity to thrive, even in an unjust world.
In addition to *Somatic Skills Online*, I draw on my *Tao of Trauma* training with Alaine Duncan; and since 2017, I’ve continued to deepen my learning – particularly around systemic trauma – as a *Somatic Experiencing* training assistant and session provider. I also bring my equine-facilitated mental health background into my practice where I can.
