I am a Licensed Psychologist who received my Masters in Psychology at The State University of New York at New Paltz, and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at The University of South Dakota. I have counseled people coping with depression, anxiety, substance abuse issues and trauma in a variety of settings: student counseling centers, outpatient mental health, inpatient private and state hospitals, and residential treatment centers. I have worked with individuals, couples and families; children, adolescents and adults. Throughout my training, I learned to approach emotional and behavioral issues in several different ways, including examining thought processes (CBT), family systems, interpersonal functioning (psychodynamic), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and body work (TEB and SRR). My specialty is helping individuals heal from trauma with a combination of talk therapy and body work. I am certified in EMDR and am also a Transforming Touch Practitioner. I competed TEB (Transforming the Experience-based Brain) under Dr. Stephen Terrell and SRR (Somatic Resilience and Regulation) under Dr. Stephen Terrell and Dr. Kathy Kain.
