Mina Roustayi, Ph.D., MS. Ed, SEP is an Integrative Learning Specialist in private practice. She has over 40 years of teaching experience. Recognizing that one’s stressed nervous systems can hinder higher cognitive brain functions, Mina incorporates mind-body, neurophysiology, and somatic experiencing to support individuals of all ages to access embodied learning. She leads workshops and presentations for teachers and related professionals to apply somatic (body) awareness and the Polyvagal language for insight into self, emotional regulation, and resilience in educational settings. Mina’s broad teaching experiences allow her to create a new paradigm for learning. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Columbia University and New York University, as a museum educator at major New York museums, as an elementary school teacher, and as an independent Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) from birth to Kindergarten. Mina also assists in the somatic modality of Transforming Experience-based Brain trainings that address early developmental imprints. A team member of the internal work group at the Somatic Experiencing Training Institute, she is an advisor for the newly created disaster response and crisis stabilization curriculum. Mina views the ability to learn and communicate as a human right and a foundational life skill to pursue one’s goals, dreams, and ambitions.
