I am a body-oriented psychotherapist specializing in trauma resolution in adults, particularly early developmental trauma that clients experienced in childhood. Because so much of this early trauma was caused by lack of regulating touch (or by abusive touch), the repair that works best, in my experience, is attachment-focused touch. Consequently touch is a big part of my practice, with about two-thirds of my clients receiving table work. Whether or not and when/how touch is used is always up to the client. I use the same principles of co-regulation when doing talk therapy and work from a Somatic Experiencing framework. I also do EMDR, another body-based therapy, and integrate that therapy into treatment when useful.
I co-own my practice, Life Care Wellness, which is a group practice of 18 clinicians, the majority of whom are body-oriented psychotherapists. Our specialties are the treatment of addiction and trauma and the promotion of wellness. We frequently cross refer in the practice for adjunctive therapy when it can be helpful (e.g. yoga therapy, dance movement therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting, addiction specific therapy, group therapy, etc.). I'm passionate about what I do and look forward to assisting you in finding greater nervous system regulation and increased wellness!
