I am a somatic psychotherapist specializing in trauma recovery for adults and adolescents, with a focus on complex and developmental trauma (childhood trauma, including trauma experienced in utero) In addition, I help clients to more effective handle relationship issues, which are often difficult for survivors of trauma. I named my practice Resilience & Transformation Psychotherapy Center because I am passionate about helping clients become more resilient and transform their lives, including their self-perceptions. Resilience is the capacity to bounce back after difficulties. Transformation describes a thorough or dramatic change. When addressed in a compassionate and nonjudgmental manner, healing from trauma can lead to growth and greater resilience.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Professional Psychology from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Michigan. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I've been a Clinical Massage Therapist since 2000, specializing in pain and stress relief, and a Wellness Coach since 2009. I am fully trained in Somatic Resilience and Regulation, a form of somatic touch therapy, that addresses developmental trauma. SRR theory is based on a combination of attachment theory, developmental trauma psychology, somatic psychotherapy and gentle noninvasive touch.

I am also fully trained in EMDR, a cognitive behavioral form of therapy that integrates somatic awareness and resolution to process and heal from trauma. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is helpful for addiction, shame, anxiety, and anger. I have additional training in Psychodrama (Experiential Therapy), Improvisational Theater, Mindfulness, and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. In my practice, I provide individual, couple's and group therapy in downtown Chicago (West Loop) Tuesday-Friday and in the Western suburbs (Westmont) on Mondays.

I am grateful for the ability to use touch and somatic awareness to help my clients heal more effectively and become more resilient. I am happy to discuss my approach with potential new clients to determine if we are a good fit!
